Fiesta Double Impatiens

This is my entry for Todays Flowers to see more beautiful flowers go and visit http://flowersfromtoday.blogspot.com/

The past few summers I have been buying some annuals to plants around my house for the color. There are so many annuals to pick from and I usually have a hard time trying to choose.

This year I pick up some called Fiesta double Impatiens. They are suppose to bloom summer to fall and are a medium height.

They like shade so we planted them on the side of the house that gets the morning sun. The tag says they are not hardy and need water daily. So I am hoping that these beauties make it thru the summer.

Bleeding hearts

My Bleeding Heart or Dicentra plants were blooming earlier this spring but this is my first posting of my photos.

They are one of my favorite plants, I have a lot of favorites though. It is a perennial plant that blooms in April or May. They grow in partial shade to full shade. The plant is prized for the fringed like texture and the dusty pink blooms. I love the heart shaped flowers.

Rhododendron

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the MOM’s out there!

Our yard and house is surrounded by rhododendron bushes. They are blooming now, but it is sad to see some were damaged from this past winter. The deep snow we had damaged a number of our bushes. We do have some that are still looking beautiful and of course they are purple, one of my favorite colors for flowers.

The Rhododendron is a large genus that has showy flower displays. They can vary in size from shrubs to large trees. We have some that are now taller than our ranch style house. They may be evergreen or deciduous.

Iris..Today’s Flower

I seem to have a lot of purple flowers in my yard and these Irises are looking beautiful this year. I do like the color purple especially when it comes to any kind of purple flowers. These Irises are growing close to the pond and they seem to be in their happy spot. I am not positive but I think they are called Dwarf German Iris. They bloom early in May and need sun to partial shade.
